Charles Town & John Brown: The Rest of the Story…

After visiting the site of John Brown's raid in Harpers Ferry, experience the rest of the story with this tour of the Charles Town courthouse where he was held, tried, and found guilty of treason, as well as the location where he was ultimately hanged. Tours begin at the Charles Town Visitor Center located on George Street, Charles Town.

O’Hurleys Heritage Music Jam Session

On any Thursday night, musicians arrive at O'Hurley's and start tuning up with a dozen or more musicians playing their dulcimer, banjo, guitar, fiddle, Celtic harp, flute, etc.Visitors can have a seat in a rocking chair and listen in and experience what has been a timeless tradition.

Live Music at The Event Center at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races

The Event Center will play host to a variety of entertainers, including top musical and comedy acts.  Saturday, July 5 is opening night featuring Credance Clearwater Revisited and more acts to follow like Sinbad on Friday, July 18. Tiny Stitches Quilt Exhibit

The walls of the Charles Town Fire Hall will soon be blanketed with rich colors and unconventional shapes. The exhibiting artists have been quilting together for several years and there will also be a collection of old-time quilt books and three period quilting machines. This event is sponsored by The Jefferson Arts Council, formerly AHA!. The opening reception, free and open to the public, is set for Saturday, Sept. 6 from 3-5 PM. Shepherdstown Mysteries Walk

The Shepherdstown Mysteries Walk is about ghosts, murder and elephants!  Take a fascinating hour long walking tour through historic Shepherdstown.  Walk the back streets and hear unique curiosities, mysterious tales haunts and legends of the oldest town in West Virginia. Cost of Tour is $10 and meet Mrs. Mitchell in front of the library at German and King Streets. Third Thursdays in Downtown Charles Town

Boo Fest

Historic Shepherdstown will celebrate a week- long "Boo Fest" starting with a Vampire Ball on Friday night, Oct. 24 and conclude with trick-or-treating and a Halloween concert on Halloween night, Oct. 31.
