Harpers Ferry Campground

Location: 408 Alstadts Hill Rd/ Harpers Ferry, WV 25425
Description: Only one hour from the Washington, DC and Baltimore Metro Regions, River Riders now offers primitive waterfront camping on the Potomac River in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia where Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia come together. Enjoy our primitive campsites, available on the only deepwater section of the Potomac River in Bakerton, near Harpers Ferry WV. A four-mile section of deep water runs from our campground to above the Dargan Bend Boat Ramp in Maryland. We have shady, waterfront sites available for single or multiple night rentals. Some sites have concrete patios and/or feature fire rings. All sites come complete with the best view of the Potomac River and beautiful sunrise over the Maryland side of the C&O Canal! We have RV sites as well. There are no hookups, but for those willing to rough-it, it is a beautiful unique location! Bakerton's lovely, natural surroundings make for a perfect place to unwind with a swim or a snooze in the great outdoors. Bring your inflatable tubes, portable flotation devices, boats and water shoes to fully enjoy the only deepwater section on the Potomac near Harpers Ferry, before or after your night under the stars. Choose from one of 10 sites located along the Potomac River near Harpers Ferry. Reservations are recommended but not required. You must register for your campsite during River Rider's regular hours of operation. Please call in advance for availability.

Harpers Ferry/Civil War Battlefields KOA Campground

Location: 343 Campground Rd/Harpers Ferry, WV 25425
Description: Stay in the heart of Civil War country, 65 miles from the nation's capital. Camp next to a trench where Civil War soldiers faced off. Explore the site of John Brown's raid, Antietam National Battlefield and other nearby historic sites. Hardwood trees glow with color in the fall here, where three states meet at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers-great for tubing, kayaking and whitewater rafting. The Appalachian Trail and the C&O Canal run through town, just 2 miles away. We provide the perfect base camp for Washington DC sightseeing, touring major Civil War battlefields, or watching an exciting horse race in Charles Town. Or, spend your camping vacation enjoying the scenic wonders while biking the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, hiking the Appalachian Trail or rafting on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. Moulton Park

Location: 716 Bloomery Road/Charles Town 25414
Description: Moulton Park is on the shore of the Shenandoah River, just north of the Bloomery Bridge. This half-mile of river frontage features camping and other recreational opportunities. The well-shaded, quiet hammock of foliage creates an inviting habitat for squirrels, birds, and waterfowl. A public boat ramp offers access for fishing on the Shenandoah River. Camping is allowed by permit only: $10 per night, 2 tents per permit, 10 night maximum*
